Pantoland's Got Talent

DANDINI Thank you, thank you for that wonderful welcome. My name is Dandini. Slap-a-my-thigh, (he slaps his thigh) what a fantastic audience you are. I’ll be your presenter tonight, guiding you through our fabulous final three acts in this, our thrilling finale of Pantoland’s Got Talent. There’s our magical duo, Widow Twanky and her son Wishee Washee. Then we have the singing siblings, Jack and Jill. Last but not least, there’s our musical sweetheart, Snow White. Isn’t she lovely? But before we meet our finalists, please join me in welcoming to the stage our judges, the mighty wizard Abanazer and that naughty stepmother Queen Grimhilde. The Judges.

ABANAZER and QUEEN GRIMHILDE enter stage left, tustling to be the first onstage. ABANAZER wears a black v-necked t-shirt tucked into dark jeans, with a large, metallic medallion and an Arabic looking pointed hat. QUEEN GRIMHILDE wears a dark-coloured, long gown and a crown. They barge into DANDINI, arguing.

DANDINI Abanazer, Grimhilde. Always joking around. (To the audience) They love each other really.

GRIMHILDE I most certainly do not love him. I detest and deplore this shady character.

ABANAZER The feeling is mutual, I assure you.

DANDINI Oh you guys. (He play punches ABANAZER’s arm). Of course we have you, Grimhilde to thank for our prize tonight. (To audience) Grimhilde-

GRIMHILDE Queen Grimhilde. I’m royal, you know.

ABANAZER A right royal pain, if you ask me.

DANDINI Queen Grimhilde has offered her magical speaking mirror as tonight’s prize. Isn’t that generous? I suppose you don’t have need of it anymore. Good of you to let go and all that.

GRIMHILDE What are you implying?

DANDINI Nothing. I just meant that you must have bought a better mirror, I suppose.

GRIMHILDE As it happens, I’ve decided to revamp the castle. I’m going New England. Pale paintwork. Patchwork. The enchanted mirror wouldn’t match the new decor.

ABANAZER Personally, I would never let a mirror go. My palace is full of mirrors. I never tire of looking at myself.

GRIMHILDE Why doesn’t that surprise me? Still trying to find one good angle are we?

DANDINI Lovely, lovely. I do enjoy speaking to you guys but time is getting on and we must start the show. So off to your thrones. Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for ‘the Judges’.
