July 2011 Newsletter
At Murdering The Text, we’re feeling rather like the white rabbit, running around in a fuss, constantly checking the time (or in our case, the date) and generally coming over all flustered. What’s caused the panic? Well, in addition to trying to complete the two new plays we promised to have for you by the summer newsletter, an old friend, the Purley Players have asked us to write a new play for their festival performance next year and of course you’ve been keeping us busy in all kind of ways too. Now, where’s that fob watch?
Thoroughly Murdered MillieThis is our newest play which you’ll soon be able to purchase from our website. Set in the 1920s, Millie Harper-Smythe is a rich, young widow with too much time on her hands. Is it any wonder that she puts everyone’s nose out of joint? We have an elderly aunt and sister-in-law with her meek companion, petulant grown up step-children and a butler with a secret. There’s also a rather attractive, young gardener but that’s another story altogether. Watch this sophisticated weekend in the country turn into a murderous mystery.
Spreading the Magic
Did you catch our article on how to extend your performance beyond the edge of the stage? There are so many ways to add more depth to the whole experience of a murder mystery evening. If you didn’t read this blog post already, have a look at it now.
Waxworks of Horror merchandise
You can now buy mugs and other merchandise for our play Waxworks of Horror in the Strangemoo online store. Whether you’re looking for a ‘Dead on my feet’ zombie t-shirt (that’s Stalking Stephen’s range) or a comic strip mousemat, there’s plenty to choose from. They also have a Theatrical section which is worth a visit.
Pricing Change
Another announcement that we made recently on our blog is a change in the pricing of our murder mystery packs. The good news is that the cost of an emailed copy of our scripts and our royalty fees remain the same. However, due to the increase in the price of postage, paper and printer ink, we will now be charging £8.50 to print off and post your murder mystery pack, should you choose this delivery option.
